Ugh...computers. Aren't they supposed to make life easier?

Well, I have been having computer problems...like big time!  So if you are waiting for proofs from your session...I am really trying.  I thought I had it figured out a couple weeks ago, but the computer must have heard me and thought "I don't think so honey!"  So, I am working very hard to finish up on a computer that is taking about 25 times (or more) longer to do everything...if it does what I want at all.  Which it often doesn't.  And not only does this make me look like a huge goof and stress me out because I am letting my clients down...I am also being harassed by my 8 year old because I can't sync his ipod and put some new stuff on it!  Nothing quite like being made to feel like a complete idiot by a 3rd grader!  Fun stuff!

Anyway, I am working on it...I swear.  If all goes well (don't tell the computer) I will hopefully have one session loaded today!  Keep your fingers crossed for me!

For the record.  I have two computers.  I do all my proofing on the desk top.  That is the one that is misbehaving.  I also have a lap top which is why I can blog without it taking 8 years!  I don't have all the programs on the lap top....and honestly I am afraid to bog it down and have two useless machines.  That would be bad.

It's Monday...why did I pick Monday?

Ok, this will be quick...I am sure you are shocked!  ;)  It is nap time around here and I have 1.5 hours to do 5 hours worth of stuff (while my 2 year old cries from her crib..though that should stop in a couple minutes).

I hope everyone had a terrific weekend.  Mine was very good...busy but good!

Since this is my business blog... I wanted to mention that the PERFECT Florida spring weather is upon us.  It is a great time for portraits if you want something outdoors.  In the not too distant future it will be HOT and YUCKY...but right now it is just right!  (Like the third EVERYTHING in Goldilocks and the three bears!)

Also, on a business (and personal sort of) note, I am on facebook.  I have a personal page and a business page.  I would love to have you as a part of either of those...so send me a friend invite or become a "fan"!

It's a good day to be a duck...

I don't know what it is like where you are...but it is pouring out here in SE Leon county!

I hope everyone had a joyous Easter and was able to spend some time with family and friends.  I was blessed to spend the day with my sweet husband and my four beautiful children.  It was a rare thing that we could all be together for a whole day...it hasn't happened much lately. 

So stay dry and safe while this weather makes its way through our area.  That is what we are going to do!

Alas, farewell spring break... And First Communion info

I am not sure how exactly, but I survived Spring Break with the four kids and my sanity (mostly) in tact!  I will admit I was glad to get back to the routine this morning though!  We had a laid back week...tried to stay dry from all the rain...YUCK!

Anyway in a huge departure from all my posts recently...I am going to touch on something actually related to my business!  It is First Communion time again.  There are some examples in my galleries at www.candacepridgeon.com of First Communion portraits (for boys, just look for them to be dressed like little men...their outfits aren't so obvious as the girls).  I love doing these portraits for a couple reasons...

1. the kids (girls especially) are so excited about the clothes and they all are so adorable being all dressed up!
2. it is such an exciting and important time for them.  First Communion is an important and wonderful sacrament...I just think it is cool.  (I had my First Communion as an adult...and not long ago...it was really something!)

So, I am hoping to get to vicariously enjoy it through some of you this year.  I had my own children having their First Communion for the last two years...but know I have a few years off before Sam and Campbell get there...

Call me to set up a sitting...Spring can be pretty busy! 
And Happy Monday to everyone...enjoy to sun and the cool weather...it won't be around long (the cool weather, not the sun). :)

spring break

Hi everyone...its spring break in Leon county. That means I am enjoying all 4 of my kids all day! I hope evryone is enjoying their week. We are out of town until tomorrow. C

oops... i did it again!

Any Brittany fans out there? I actually like her early stuff (like "hit me baby one more time"). But my title actually refers to the fact that I am posting from my blackberry yet again!! I wa working on taxes - YUCK! And some other around the house stuff and the day just got away! I am off to take tennis team pics after school today and I have a session to proof...so excited about that!! Anyhow, keep a look out for some sneak peeks soon!! Have a great week! C

rainy days and mondays...

I couldn't resist the title as I sit listening to the rain outside. This will be a short post. Mostly because I am typing on my blackberry (my internet connection is being tempermental). But also because I drove to Boca Raton and back on Saturday and Sunday for the men's state gymnastics meet. The drive wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated until... We were within 20 - 30 minutes of home and I-10 stopped!! It took us over an hour to go about 5 miles. And I think we were surrounded by college kids on their way back from spring break...it was weird to see that many people on the road so late on a Sunday night. We didn't get home until 12:40 am! I NEED A NAP!! Anywho, enjoy the rain and stay dry!! C

Now I know why...

Now I know why I didn't post very often.  I am terrible at coming up with a topic!  So, it is Monday and I have to post...but what about?  I don't know.

How about daylight savings time?  What do you think of it?  I would love to know.  Here are my two cents.  As a mother of young children I don't care for it too much for a couple of reasons.  First, I really can't afford to lose an hour (of sleep or otherwise!) I have more than I can do (and less sleep than I really need) in the few hours I have already!!  Second, it really messes with the younger kids schedules!  So then for a week or two I have to fudge bed time, nap time and eating time to try to get back to where we were.  What a pain!

Also, in Florida in the summer, I really don't love that it doesn't get dark until like 9pm.   Sometimes I would like to do things with the kids after dark...but we are all too tired by the time "dark" gets here!  Wow.  I sound like a whiner!  Oh well, I am just not loving it.  What can I say?

Leave a comment to tell me what you think of daylight savings.  I would love to have some affirmation or another perspective so I can be more positive about it!  As a side note, I don't mind "falling back" (when we gain an hour) nearly as much as "springing forward"!

i gotta start doing these ahead of time...

Well, I am posting from my blackberry while waiting to pick up my kids. Welcome to "crazy town". But, hey I posted!! My 10 year old had her sleepover this weekend...lots of fun! And we all survived! Happy Monday everyone!

It's Monday so I Must Post, right?

Well... I have decided I need another "rule" for Must post Mondays.  If I forget to post, you all have to catch me by midnight on the following Tuesday OR before I remember and post (which ever comes first).  Otherwise, it could go on forever. 

And for those of you paying attention...I totally forgot to post last Monday.  I got confused...the kids were off from school and it just didn't feel like a Monday...I remembered around  6pm with a gasp! and an "uh oh" and I waited for someone to call me on it...but no one did!

So that is the new rule and this is Monday's post.  I have more...but it will have to wait until Tuesday...until then. :)
